About

Le Havre de la Faune is a rehabilitation center whose mission is to welcome injured, sick or orphaned wild animals, to care for them, feed them and house them until they can be returned to the wild.

The refuge is also a sanctuary for wild animals that cannot be released, for example due to disability, and offers educational tours to raise awareness of the importance of caring for wildlife.

*SUMMER VISITS* (June to August)

DISCOVERY tour: this tour is for those who wish to come and SEE the animals and facilities of the shelter. You will be able to meet Moosseline, our moose, and attend his snack. This visit will allow you to take an overview of the refuge’s facilities, meet some animals and learn their history, and learn more about the mission of a wildlife rehabilitation center.

Duration: 30 to 45 minutes

Cost: child $15 / Adult $20

Guided tour in small groups

IMMERSION tour: this tour is aimed at those who wish to PARTICIPATE in the care of animals in becoming a caregiver for a day. You will participate in the complete tour of animal meals: moose, birds, raccoons, foxes… depending on the animals present at the shelter on the day of your visit. If you come in June or July, you will have the chance to bottle-feed orphaned animals in the shelter’s nursery. This visit is made for true animal enthusiasts who want a total experience!

Duration: ±2 hours

Cost: $50 / person

Individual visits (1 or 2 people only)

Snowshoe hike – Beginner

Duration: 30 to 45 minutes

Type of trail: clear and flat ground

Points of interest: Stop at a bird feeder to observe birds, wildlife interpretation by your guide, snack from Moosseline the moose.

Prices*: Children (under 18 years old) = $15 / Adults $25

* Snowshoe rental is INCLUDED.

Snowshoe hike – Intermediate

Duration: 60 to 90 minutes

Type of trail: clear and generally flat terrain (a few small hills)

Points of interest: Stop at a bird feeder to observe birds, interpretation of the fauna by your guide, stop at the lake, campfire with marshmallows, snack from Moosseline l’ moose.

Prices*: Children (under 18 years old) = $25 / Adults $40

* Snowshoe rental and marshmallows are INCLUDED.

Snowshoe hike at snow – Experienced

Duration: ±120 minutes

Type of trail: half clear and flat, half off-piste (narrower trail with uneven terrain and unpacked snow)

Points of interest : Stop at a bird feeder to observe birds, interpretation of the wildlife by your guide, off-piste section for those who like a challenge, 2 viewpoints on the lake, campfire with marshmallows, snack from Moosseline the moose .

Prices*: 12 years and over = $55
