On the Transparent Paper of the Sky

Drawing from the Museum’s permanent collection, this exhibition brings together works that evoke the literary arts—including artists’ books, representations, intertextuality, and multidisciplinary artistic practices. It explores various ways in which visual artists appropriate or draw inspiration from literary conventions in their work.

Some of these pieces are being shown to the public for the first time. They reflect both the evolution of artistic practices and techniques and a range of themes that invite reflection on memory, myth, and language, while also offering the pleasure of playing with words and the resonances they evoke.
