Urban Terraces, Rimouski

July 10 to August 9

For a 13th summer, a section of Saint-Germain Street will belong to vacationers in flip-flops.

Between Belzile Street and Avenue de la Cathédrale, tourists and locals can stroll at their own pace and take part in free daily activities: karaoke, urban yoga, washer tournaments, country bingo, beer tastings and more.

Our picks: the visit from characters of the children’s show Top Cornichon! (July 24) and the Foam Party (July 26).

Bootlegger Festival, Rivière-Bleue

July 24 to 26

Since 2009, this Témiscouata village has travelled back each summer to the lively days of Prohibition.

The festival pays tribute to a legendary figure who ran his own alcohol distribution network.

Yes, you can buy beer there (perfectly legally!), but also take part in a washers tournament, enjoy a show by David Pineau and join a guided hike along the 3 Frontières trail.

Les Grandes Fêtes Telus, Rimouski

July 29 to August 2

You can’t accuse the region’s biggest music festival of lacking flair.

For its 20th edition, it’s one of the few in Quebec to feature Angine de poitrine, the duo of the moment returning straight from Japan.

Other headliners include Milky Chance, Papa Roach, Timbaland, TALK, Dave Fenley and Hollywood Undead, alongside Quebec artists Éric Lapointe and JF Pauzé.

Get your polka dot shirts out and go have fun!
