About

Located 10 kilometers east of downtown Rimouski, the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site invites you to discover its attractions.

Climb aboard the submarine Onondaga: you will discover the daily life of the 70 crew members who lived confined in this 90-meter black steel behemoth, the first submarine open to the public in Canada! Throughout the audio-guided tour (French-English), you will be immersed in the world of submariners: the narrow berths, the rumble of the diesel engines, the radars and periscopes of the control room, the torpedo tubes, etc. .

Want to know the submarine in a different way? Test drive the new interactive outdoor course and experience the onboard systems for yourself, via a series of learning games and missions on a tablet. Opening in June 2022!

Take advantage of our coastline to relax and breathe the river air while admiring the 2nd tallest lighthouse in Canada and the Empress of Ireland museum! Our facilities include picnic tables, a play area for children and the site is located on the cycle path.
