You’re on your way to your vacation destination. As you approach our cabourons, you exit Highway 20 in search of a place to rest or have a picnic. Whether along the river, in the foothills, or in the highlands, you’ll find beautiful rest areas set up by our municipalities. An invitation to take a break and enjoy the scenery. Here are a few suggestions for you.

Le Belvédère de la Croix in Saint-Pacôme

A lookout, picnic tables, outdoor exhibits, and a breathtaking panorama await you. If you want to take in the Kamouraska region at a glance, this is the place to go.

The Pointe-aux-Iroquois-et-aux-Orignaux site in Rivière-Ouelle

Quebec’s first (and only) cultural heritage landscape. The scent of roses, the white houses against the blue of the river. A true delight.

La Halte du Cap Martin in La Pocatière

A rest stop just for you along the Route Verte, accessible only by bike or on foot. Take the trail lined with wild blueberries, and you’ll reach the small pergola overlooking the river. Panoramic views, salty air, and a sense of peace and tranquility await.

An old, very well-maintained chapel, venerable trees, and access to the river. An invitation to go searching for seashells and driftwood after our meal. A treasure barely hidden from view.

A scenic lookout, comfortable swings, a spectacle of shifting shadows, and beautiful floral displays. No matter the time of day, the lookout is the perfect spot to take in the essence of Kamouraska at a glance.

In La Pocatière, the bakery “Du pain, c’est tout!” and the Rossignol butcher shop prepare sandwiches and salads every day. In Kamouraska, you’ll find excellent ready-to-eat options at Supérette Chez Marie, Poissonnerie Lauzier, or Pêcheries Ouellet. And don’t forget Le comptoir gourmand in Saint-Pascal and its wonderful desserts.

You can also stock up on fresh produce at several of our local farms: Ferme Cybèle in La Pocatière, Jardin des Pèlerins in Saint-André-de-Kamouraska, or Sillon des saveurs in Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska.

Finally, whether you’re planning a picnic or want to take some of our local flavors home with you, in addition to the shops already mentioned, you might want to stop by the Le Mouton Blanc cheese factory in La Pocatière and the Côté Est boutique in Kamouraska. There, in addition to their specialties, you’ll find many products crafted with love by local artisans.
