Saint-Pascal - La Pocatière

After visiting the Chaudière-Appalaches region, you will reach La Pocatière, entrance of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. Known for its educational institutions, its museum and its animated downtown, you will find there restaurants and accommodation services. Need info? A stop to the tourist information office, accessible via the route du Quai, is a must. Welcome agents will be glad to provide you with information. An interpretation center highlighting the value of the St. Lawrence River can be found at the same location.
Continue your excursion by Route 132. A string of villages will take turn and unveil coastal landscapes, each one more beautiful than the other. In Rivière-Ouelle, you will reconnect with the regional heritage and road crosses, whereas in Saint-Denis, you will be charmed by the Chapais family story.
Place of leisure by excellence, the village of Kamouraska is without a doubt one of the most famous in eastern Québec. Route 132 (Morel Avenue) is very busy due to the various restaurants, fishmongers, bakery,boutiques, art centers and galleries, museum, health center... Note the preserved architecture of the houses. These are very beautiful and some even offer room and board.
Continue towards Saint-André, then to Notre-Dame-du-Portage by the river road. Here again, houses and villas of this seaside resort popular as of the 19th century are present. A salt water swimming pool is always accessible to the public.
At the end of the village, turn around by Route 132 and turn to the left to continue on the Côte de la Mer. Turn right at the Chemin du Lac exit, then right at 3e Rang, which will lead you to Saint-Alexandre-de Kamouraska, further west.
From Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska, continue on Route 230 where you will seevarious farming and forestry villages while having an eye on the river, in the distance. In Saint-Pascal, town of services, you could take advantages of this stop to purchase some groceries.
Return to La Pocatière by going through the lovely village of Saint-Pacôme.
