About

The Cabouron Trail is part of the Cabourons of Kamouraska and stretches over 4.3 km along the Saint-Germain cabouron. Interpretive panels located at the trailheads, as well as a scenic lookout, help visitors discover and appreciate its geology, geography, and the richness of its natural features. For example, at the summit, you’ll find stunted jack pines approximately 80 years old—an exceptional feature in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

The Cabouron Loop

You can begin at either the east or west entrance and turn back at any point along the trail. Alternatively, by returning via Rang Mississipi and the village, you can complete a full loop of 8.5 km, known as the Cabouron Loop.

Access

West entrance: Located 0.6 km from the north entrance of the village, on your right, you’ll find the Chalet des Cabourons parking area. The trail entrance is on the opposite side of the road—please use caution when crossing.

East entrance: From the village, drive 3.7 km along Rang Mississipi. The trail and parking area will be on your right.

Difficulty level: The trail is considered intermediate. The village route and Rang Mississipi are easy.
