The park stretches over 25 kilometres through landscapes highlighted by the St. Lawrence, its islands and the coastal mountains and marshes. It is divided into seven discovery areas in Cacouna, L'Isle-Verte and Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. Guided activities, hiking trails, bike paths, primitive camping and rustic chalets are available. This regional park is particularly noted for its impressive geological diversity and biodiversity, the vast number of bird species and the First Nations culture.
