Laura Martin, she shares her crushes and discoveries with us for our greatest happiness!

Who doesn’t want to attend the grand gala of flamboyant deciduous trees in the fall? When the mountains are adorned in red and gold, the call of the forest becomes irresistible. Yet sometimes all it takes is a moment of doubt—a single question mark—to halt our momentum.

“Will I find parking?”
“Is the trail too steep for my old knees?”
“Will I have time to get back to my car before nightfall?”

Because none of these questions should stop you from enjoying the outdoors, Rando Québec has created Ready-to-Go fact sheets, practical, simple, and comprehensive tools that make it easy to plan your hikes. And the good news is that nine trails in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region are covered.

What is a Ready-to-Go?

It is a technical sheet designed to accompany hikers before and during their expedition. On one side, you will find all the useful and up-to-date information you need to know before setting off: a detailed description of the route, its level of difficulty, information on restrictions and parking, contact details, etc. On the other side of the sheet, a clear and easy-to-read map shows the route, topography, bodies of water, and services along the trail (rest areas, lookouts, restrooms, etc.).

In short, everything you need to set off with peace of mind and a spring in your step!

Which trails are listed in the BSL?

Nine trails, among the most popular in the region, now have their own information sheet.

  • Coulombe Trail, in Saint-Fabien
  • Anses Trail, in Bic National Park
  • National Trail, in Trois-Pistoles
  • Batture Trail and SEBKA Mountain, in Kamouraska
  • Le Bootlegger Trail, in Lac Long Nature Park, in Rivière-Bleue
  • Cabouron Trail, in Saint-Germain-de-Kamouraska
  • Faucons Trail, in Kiskotuk Coastal Park, in Cacouna
  • Ruelland Trail, in Canyon des Portes de l’Enfer and in the Duchénier Wildlife Reserve, in Saint-Narcisse-de-Rimouski
  • Ixworth Trail, in Saint-Onésime-d’Ixworth

The sheets can be viewed on a phone, but since cell reception can be spotty deep in the woods, we strongly recommend printing a copy. Slip it into your backpack or cargo pants pocket—you’ll be glad you have it handy when you need it.

See you at the top?
