About
EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE AND HERITAGE
For 140 years, Saint-Hubert-de-Rivière-du-Loup has stood out for its rich forests and the splendor of its three lakes: Saint-François, Saint-Hubert, and Grande Fourche. The people of Saint-Hubert form a close-knit community characterized by a strong spirit of collaboration and mutual aid. Strengthened by the dynamism of its numerous volunteer committees, Saint-Hubert offers a packed calendar of events of all kinds and for all ages. Culture lovers will discover during a visit to the Espace Jack Kerouac that the father and grandfather of the famous American novelist and poet were born in Saint-Hubert. Heritage enthusiasts will be amazed by the industrial legacy of the Massé mills, presented at the Musée des Vieux Moulins (Old Mills Museum), featuring a vast collection of photos, equipment, and tools used by workers to operate these ancient giants that shaped the history of the people of Saint-Hubert.
At Lac de la Grande Fourche, you’ll find the municipal beach and its areas reserved for seasonal and transient campers—all five kilometers from the village. Around the three bodies of water, several rental homes allow visitors to enjoy the municipality’s natural attractions. The village center of Saint-Hubert is full of shops, local services, and sports facilities, allowing residents to enjoy an exceptional quality of life and allowing visitors to take a break or stock up on supplies.
The southern sector of Saint-Hubert is accessible via the Petit-Témis Interprovincial Linear Park bike path. In winter, this extensive cycling circuit joins hundreds of kilometers of marked and developed snowmobile trails. Well known for its high annual snowfall during the winter season, Saint-Hubert is the ideal destination for unparalleled snowmobile and ATV excursions.
