Built in 1833 for Jean-Charles Chapais, the future Father of the Canadian Confederation, Maison Chapais was intended at the time to be a family residence which also housed the first general store in Saint-Denis. Designated a national historic site and classified as a heritage building, the Maison Chapais nowadays represents a great architectural and historical interest.
Maison Chapais now serves as a historic site. Discover the decor of this 19th century residence: walk through its forgotten gardens; attend the Sundays Champêtres shows and don't forget to visit the gift shop!
