What to do in June in Bas-Saint-Laurent

Laura Martin, rédactrice

Writing

Laura Martin, she shares her crushes and discoveries with us for our greatest happiness!

Musique Fest

Musique Fest Premier Tech,
Rivière-du-Loup

From June 12 to 14

Marie-Mai performs the first show of her summer tour. Smash Mouth will make its only stop in Quebec. Salebarbes, Les Trois Accords, Valaire, Preston Pablo and Souldia will also take to the stage (to borrow the title of the headliner’s hit!) For its 3rd edition, the Rivière-du-Loup festival has raised the bar… for sound. We’re also there for the mouth-watering variety of food on offer. Bob le Chef will even be in the kitchen this year!

Espace fleuve Danse
Olivier Poulin

ROSEQ Summer Network

The Alfa Rococo duo, storyteller Michel Faubert and the Fleuve Espace Danse company are among the artists scheduled to perform on one of the region’s small stages in June. From Saint-Fabien to Dégelis, by way of Rivière-du-Loup and Rimouski, you’ll be able to attend intimate performances all summer long, sometimes under the stars, always under the spell, as part of this seasonal tour. The perfect opportunity to discover fine human beings and good music, in a warm and friendly setting.

Grande Virée

La Grande Virée,
Saint-Jean-de-Dieu

June 25-29

The provincial 4 x 4 pulling competition is the main attraction of this festival, now in its 36th year. If big trucks aren’t your thing, there’s always the car rally, bingo and live music in the big top. Tributes to AC/DC and Metallica are scheduled.

Festival Country de Saint-Antonin
Saint-AntoninCourtoisie

Saint-Antonin Country Festival

June 27-29

This isn’t the Saint-Antonin festival’s first rodeo. Oh, no! With 16 editions under its belt, the organization is well-oiled, attracting over 35,000 cowboys and cowgirls to its grounds. In addition to top-notch horsemanship and lariat throwing, the event is also known for its epic dances, country mass, parade, wrestling gala and artisan booth alley. Get your western boots out of the box…

Fête de la mer
RimouskiCourtoisie

La fête de la mer, Rimouski

June 29 to July 1

Can’t get enough of shellfish? Don’t miss this event celebrating the richness of the maritime world! Building on the success of last year’s first edition, the organization is putting the line back in the water this year, this time for three days at the Rimouski marina. Encounters with seafood artisans, product tastings, ship tours and boat outings: you’ll plunge right into the heart of this mysterious and tasty world. Come aboard!
