Claudine Boucher, As a native of Témiscouata, I love nature, outdoor activities and good food.

You will be charmed by Témiscouata with its striking panoramas in all seasons and its generous nature! Here, time takes a break… Time to breathe a breath of fresh air, to move in the heart of nature, to rest, to enjoy yourself, in addition to making exciting discoveries and great encounters…

Here are some suggestions to put on your list of places to discover this summer!

A musical show on the story of Marie Blanc

Témiscouata

Presented at the BeauLieu Culturel du Témiscouata from July 18 to August 10, this show will highlight the story of Marie Melford Blanc Charlier. In 1905, a wealthy New York lawyer, William D. Bishop, built a magnificent hunting lodge called the Gray Lodge in Notre-Dame-du-Lac which would serve to shelter his clandestine love affairs with Marie Blanc, a beautiful American from Martinican origin. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in this legendary place that has become the Auberge Marie Blanc. The room pavilion offers a magnificent view of Lake Témiscouata and is on the edge of the Le Petit Témis cycle path.

A refreshment bar in the former presbytery of Lac-des-Aigles!

Témiscouata

On the Monts Notre-Dame tourist route, near the Lac-Témiscouata national park, Domaine Carte Blanche, a beautifully appointed guest house offers cozy rooms where you can spend the night. A refreshment bar offers tasting boards with truly delectable regional flavors! Watch the program, special gastronomic events are also offered throughout the year!

Garlic in all its forms!

The company Les Jardins du Témis located in Dégelis is another place to add to your list. Garlic flower, marinated garlic, black garlic! U-pick blueberries and plums or on sale at the kiosk. New this year, a “food truck” is on site for picnics in a bucolic setting. To discover a host of other regional products, go every summer Sunday to the Marché Gourmand Desjardins in Dégelis!

Holy peace to St-Athanase!

Chalets with undeniable charm are offered throughout the region according to your tastes and needs. Do you want to completely relax in a place surrounded by nature? Villa Larose offers 4-season tourist residences on the edge of Lake Boucané in the small maple-producing municipality of St-Athanase. Calm and rejuvenation guaranteed with wood stove inside the chalets and outdoor space with hammock, campfire and watercraft! In addition, the magnificent Pohénégamook beach is less than 30 minutes away!
