Summer is in full swing in La Mitis: August is the perfect month to discover a series of festivals that rival each other in charm, ambiance and conviviality. From August 8 to 31, 2025, three events will take place in succession and complement each other perfectly – don’t miss this festive round-up!

Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski Country Western Festival

August 8 to 17

Festival country western - Alain Villatte — Saint-Gabriel-de-RimouskiAlain Villatte

For nearly 10 days, Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski will be transformed into a country-western paradise: gymkhana, rodeos, motorcycling against the “beast”, forestry competitions, equestrian shows and more. Each evening, under the big top or in the Saloon, concerts will follow one another:

August 8: Coco Country Band, Blue Ridge Band

August 9: Ben Joncas Band, Les Leblanc

August 15: Merle Marlow Band, Phil Lauzon (tribute to bearded men)

August 16: Up Band (tribute to Shania Twain), Vince Lemire

The dance floor awaits you for lessons and line dancing. Finally, children’s games, mini-putt, arcades and a festive atmosphere will complete the experience in the family area throughout the festival.

Symposium des Sculpturales
de Sainte-Luce

August 18 to 24

From August 18 to 24, the outdoor sculpture symposium will transform the Sainte-Luce coastline into an open-air gallery: sculptors at work, exhibitions, musical entertainment and cultural encounters await you in the enchanting setting of Anse-aux-Coques. Don’t miss our special shows for the occasion:

August 20: Concert Autour du monde with the Rimouski Conservatory

August 23: Drums sur mer with Julien Blais

Festi Jazz de Sainte-Luce

August 30 & 31

The finishing touch: on August 30 and 31, Festi Jazz will bring Sainte-Luce to life with jazz concerts on the outdoor stage at Anse-aux-Coques. Pascal Demalsy and Groupe Lubie (jazz trio) will bring the summer to a close in a warm, musical atmosphere.

A gourmet detour: public markets

Take advantage of your visit to fill up on local flavours at La Mitis’ public markets:

In Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski, the Hauts-Plateaux public market takes place every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Centre polyvalent. A great opportunity to meet producers and discover local products.

In Sainte-Luce, the public market welcomes you every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. right next to the Anse-aux-Coques church, in a friendly seaside atmosphere.
