You’ll be charmed by Témiscouata, with its breathtaking panoramas in every season, its bountiful nature and its many lakes, including Lake Témiscouata, the 2nd largest lake south of the St. Lawrence River, not to mention the famous Lake Pohénégamook and its legendary Ponik monster!

Built on a former railway right-of-way, the Parc linéaire interprovincial Petit Témis is Canada’s first interprovincial cycling network. It links Rivière-du-Loup in Quebec to Edmundston in New Brunswick.

Comprising 134 km of stone-dust trail, it features several rest stops and is entirely reserved for cyclists and pedestrians.  The maximum gradient is 4%, making it accessible to all.

The northern section offers rustic campsites for a wilderness experience. The southern section runs for the most part along the shores of Lake Témiscouata.

Lake Témiscouata shore-to-shore loop

Témiscouata-sur-le-LacMarie-Josée Dubé

This popular 24-km loop combines a trip on the Petit Témis between the two districts of the town of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, two water crossings on Lake Témiscouata and an incursion into the Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata.

The Épinoche pontoon in the Cabano district will take you across the lake to Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata, where you’ll follow the Grey Owl trail to St-Juste-du-Lac, where you’ll take the Corégone ferry to Notre-Dame-du-Lac and return to your starting point via Petit Témis. You can also take advantage of the 26 km of paved roads within the national park. Keep your eyes peeled for deer.
