Built on a former railway right-of-way, the Le Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park is Canada’s first interprovincial cycling network. It connects Rivière-du-Loup in Quebec to Edmundston in New Brunswick.

Consisting of 134 km of stone dust trail, it features several rest stops and is entirely reserved for cyclists and pedestrians. The maximum gradient is 4%, making it accessible to everyone.

The northern section offers rustic campsites for a true wilderness experience. The southern section, meanwhile, runs largely along the shores of Lake Témiscouata.

This popular 24-km loop combines a walk along the Petit Témis between the two neighborhoods of the town of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, two boat crossings across Lake Témiscouata, and a visit to Lac-Témiscouata National Park.

The Épinoche pontoon in the Cabano neighborhood will take you to the other side of the lake in Lac –Témiscouata, where you’ll take the Grey Owl Trail to St-Juste-du-Lac to board the Corégone ferry, which will take you to the Notre-Dame-du-Lac neighborhood before returning to your starting point via the Petit Témis.

You can also take the opportunity to explore the 26-km network of paved roads within the national park. Keep your eyes peeled—you’re very likely to spot some magnificent deer.
