On rue Lafontaine, in the heart of downtown Rivière-du-Loup, you’ll find a place where beer flows freely and conviviality is infused in every sip.

The Aux Fous Brassant microbrewery. Founded by two passionate friends, Fred Labrie and Éric Viens, the place has become a veritable institution for lovers of hops and good company.

“We brew beers that we like to drink ourselves, without pretension, but with a lot of pleasure,” says Fred Labrie.

With over 30 recipes to their credit, including a dozen in constant rotation, the range of flavors is sure to please every palate.

From smooth blondes like Chien Jaune to juicy IPAs and coffee-flavored stouts, the aim here is simple: to ensure that every customer leaves with a smile on their face.

The pub’s atmosphere reflects the spirit of its founders: warm, accessible and authentic. Whether you’re looking for a quiet moment or a lively place to chat, you’ll find what you’re looking for. Two terraces welcome you: one at the front, to capture the energy of the city, the other, at the back, more intimate, lined with trees, perfect for taking a break from the urban rhythm.

Inside, works by local artists adorn the walls, while local wood lends a rustic, welcoming touch to the space.

And to accompany your pint? A tasty menu featuring products from the Bas-Saint-Laurent region: artisan breads, fine cheeses, butcher’s sausages, pâtés and nachos, many cooked with our house beers.
