Recipient of the Prix du Patrimoine (heritage award) for restoration, this authentic country school offers history and culture in a peaceful setting. Photos and videos bear witness to the vitality of Notre-Dame-du-Portage, a popular vacation spot for over a century. Play areas for all ages; picnic tables; access to the St. Lawrence.
Sunset concerts on Wednesdays at 7:30. The story of the portage trail, Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 pm.
Visitors will find presentations on the history and origins of the village as well as the portage trails that started in Notre-Dame-du-Portage, connecting the St. Lawrence to the Bay of Fundy for centuries.
Guidebooks, information, videos, entertainment, lectures, cultural and historical activities, music, and beautiful sunsets await!
Located at the entrance of the village, this century-old country school has been refitted by a group of volunteer heritage and culture enthusiasts.
