This old courthouse (1859) harkens back to the days when L'Isle-Verte was the seat of both Témiscouata county and the circuit court. The circuit judge came three times a year to hear civil law cases. Classified a historical monument in 1978 and recognized a national historic site in 1981, the courthouse presents the architecture, history, legal system and trials of those bygone years. Classified as "Historic Monument" (QC, on 1978) and national historic site (Canada, on 1981), the building is managed by the Heritage foundation of L'Isle Verte (OBNL).
Converted into an interpretation center and a summer theatre, discover the architecture of the Court de circuit, its history, the judicial system of the time and the settled trials.
