Learn about the history of the Empress of Ireland, the ocean liner that went down on May 29, 1914, claiming 1,012 lives, making this the worst maritime disaster in Canadian history. The Treasures of the Empress of Ireland exhibit presents life on board the ship and its tragic end. Another exhibit features images of the current condition of the wreck. The film SOS Empress of Ireland will plunge you into the atmosphere of that tragic night in 1914. Activities for youngsters. Note that a package visit  is available for the Onondaga the light house's visit and the Empress.
