Opened in June 2013, the Parc national du Lac- Témiscouata is already a must, an achievement recognized with both tourism and heritage awards in 2014. A happy marriage of large lakes and forests, of unspoilt nature and nearly 10,000 years of extraordinary history, the park delights outdoor enthusiasts and families. Discover the park: natural beauty, 10,000 years of history, spectacular lakes and rivers, a diversity of hiking trails and a multitude of discovery activities for all ages. Take part in an archaeological dig, see a play with your kids, walk the trails, paddle the rivers and lakes or simply relax on the sandy shore. Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata is a great summer destination for the whole family. The friendly staff, their passion for nature, and the park’s new facilities provide all the makings for unforgettable memories!
Jardin des Mémoires: located at one of the area’s major archaeological sites, the Jardin des Mémoires is the natural and historical heart of the park. Discover the ancient links between humans and nature as you stroll among the reminders of history and the natural elements representing the major eras that have left their mark on this region. Meet the archaeologists and heritage interpreters, and take part in activities and digs available only at this park.
Anse-à-William: a multitude of services and activities are available at the Discovery and Visitors Centre near the sandy shores of Anse-à-William on Lac Témiscouata. It will take more than one day to try them all: lively organized activities, bike trails, hiking trails, sandy shores, boat rentals and shuttle service to the 120-kilometre Petit Témis bike path. The whole of “Le Témis” lies before you!
Des Grands Pins: just off Highway 85, this oasis of nature is a great spot for a relaxing break. It includes a small village of Huttopias (ready-to-camp) along a sandy shore, a hiking trail with stunning views of Lac Témiscouata and boat rentals. A large function room is available for corporate events, school groups and family gatherings. The Petit Témis bicycle path is just four kilometres from this sector. Open : June 23 to September 17.
Grand Lac Touladi: discovery trail, children’s playground, boat rentals and the first SÉPAQ campground completely designed for families, with a convenience store, shelters, barbecues and a community fire pit. Everything you need for an unforgettable stay. From the campground, the Draveur hiking trail leads to the Jardin des Mémoires, where you can take part in many activities to fully experience all the park has to offer. Open : June 23 to September 10.
