Attractions and Activities

The Maliseet of Viger First Nation reserve is the smallest native territory in Canada. The story of the Wulust’agooga’wiks – the People of the Beautiful River – can be read between the boards of the Maison Denis-Launière. This house sheltered the last Malisset to live on the reserve and has been named a heritage property by the Nation, a first for an indigenous community. It now houses the Matuweskewin aboriginal art shop, showcasing the craftsmanship and traditions of the artists and artisans.
